Great chili crab + the fresh buns! There are several restaurants everywhere in Singapore but expect prices to be a little more pricey!

Hidden Hanoi
Website: http://www.hiddenhanoi.com.vn/
Address: 137 Nghi Tàm, Tây Hồ
We paid $50US/person for the cooking class & market tour prior to the cooking class. The tour was interesting in learning how locals do their daily grocery shopping, the different kinds of markets they have and seeing the unique fresh herbs and other vegetables only available in Vietnam! We also selected the "Street Food" menu. If you make your booking in advance, you may be able to confirm and select the menu you want to cook! Pre-booking was done on the website and they will email you to confirm.

Hai San Gia Dinh, Hanoi

Must try: Grilled sea snail, grilled clams and Vermicelli. They don't really speak English so it'll be a good idea to use pictures to tell them what you want to eat!
All the dishes below were REALLY REALLY good...especially the noodles, it was surprisingly yummy and very cheap!

Ho Chi Minh City, District 1, Vietnam
Great summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%E1%BA%BFn_Th%C3%A0nh_Market
Interesting market place! Remember to always bargain for at least 40% off and start with asking the price at 60%!
Great bargain includes:
- Tea
- Vietnamese coffee (usually comes with a dripper for free)
- Lacquerware
Tips to Ho Chi Mihn
Airline from Singapore:
Tiger Air and Jetstar
Travel Visa - Allow at least 4-6 weeks
1) Get from the embassy
2) Visa on Arrival
Use the online agent on www.Vietnam-Visa.com
Money Exchange:
There are several money exchange counters right when you arrive at the airport. The rate is usually better than Singapore.
Taxi:
Between airport and District 1 is about VND 120,000. Don't take the "taxi shuttles" or any unofficial taxi or vans, they are more expensive!
There are many van taxis in HCM and may take up to 7 passengers.
Accommodation:
For a big group, 5-7, it's recommended to try the Sommerset Serviced Apartment:
